Xiangyu is a fourth year PhD student in the School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Before this, he was a MS student majoring environment science in the School of Public Health at UNC. His research interest is focused on personalization of information retrieval and filtering, especially in medical domain. In particular, he has strong interests in developing information filtering system adaptive to user interests as well as examining user behaviors in using personalized information system.
Oakkar is a software developer with nine years of industry experience in software development, including web, mobile and enterprise applications. He earned his Bachelors in Information Systems at the University of Hawaii. He co-founded Keona Health, Inc. which develops Health Informatics applications. He is currently a SILS MSIS candidate and CIS certificate student.
